One of the lingering benefits of COVID is that our initial seclusion-of-a-sort led us outside. As the need for limited activities lingered on (and on) we decided to see some of our city and county parks.
Looking for information or a guide, we were led to Trekking Through Autumn, a program sponsored by the Medina County Parks District. The goal was to visit, from September 1 through November 30, eight of a dozen selected parks, hike the trail, and keep track. At the end, we took our completed sheets to the Nature Center and got a backpack. In succeeding years, pins are awarded to add to one’s backpack.
We were, and continue to be, amazed by the vast natural beauty, especially in fall when we are treated to amazing color and brightness and vivid skies. I’ve shared some pictures below. I know neighboring Summit County has a similar program–still on the to-do list–and your county may have a something similar. This picturesque time of year is as good a time as any to get outside. Gooooo…and see what you find.
I’d love to hear about your treks or, if they are like ours, leisurely walks.
